United States gets a 5-0 win over Jamaica in their second game of the tournament. On Thursday night against Jamaica, USA forward Sophia Smith recorded a brace, while midfielders Rose Lavelle and Kristie Mewis, and forward Trinity Rodman each scored as well, as the USA tallied its second shutout win of the tournament. The USA becomes the 12th nation to qualify for the 2023 World Cup, joining co-hosts Australia and New Zealand, Korea Republic, Japan, China PR, Philippines and Vietnam from Asia and Sweden, France, Denmark and Spain from Europe. With Haiti’s 3-0 win over Mexico in the second game, the USWNT secured a top-two finish in the group which guaranteed its spot in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand. Women’s National Team has secured a berth to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup after routing Jamaica 5-0 in its second match of the 2022 Concacaf W Championship at BBVA Stadium.
